You have more hiring options when you have an out-of-the-box training solution for all new hires.
Your litigation paralegals will know how to proactively manage their cases instead of waiting for the attorneys to give them tasks.
Save money being able to hire less experienced paralegals and providing them with the tools to succeed and skip the learning curve.
Litigation Paralegal Training
It all started back in 2004 when I was a paralegal manager at an AmLaw100 firm and I would hire recent paralegal graduates fresh out of school and train them on what they could be doing on their litigation cases without waiting to be told by the attorneys what needed to be done (they don’t teach them that in their paralegal certificate programs!).
In under two years, I’d have litigation paralegals performing at levels the attorneys were used to seeing out of their 6+ year paralegals. They would frequently refer to these new paralegals as their “rockstar paralegals.”
After 30+ years working in law firms, one thing I know for certain: with the right training, it doesn’t matter how many years of experience are on their resumes.
You can free up your time and give your litigation paralegals the tools to succeed with my Litigation Paralegal Boot Camp.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on LinkedIn or visit the contact us page if you have any questions about whether or not this training program is a good fit for one of your team members.

Inside the Litigation Paralegal Training Program
Module 1 – Mindset
We start with the foundation for success as a litigation paralegal – the mindset of a rockstar paralegal. Someone who:
- Doesn’t wait for someone else to show them what to do and instead figures it out
- Develops a project manager mindset with all of their cases
- Is a valuable problem-solver on the legal team
Approximate time to complete: 2 hours
Module 2 – Behaviors
In this module, we jump into the key behaviors for a litigation paralegal:
- Time management
- Attention to detail
- Proactive case management
This frees up the attorney’s time and stress trying to remember everything that needs to be delegated on each case. You will think that your paralegal has suddenly become a mind-reader who knows what you need before you ask for it.
Approximate time to complete: 2 hours
Module 3 – Pleadings and Motions
In this module, we cover:
- What to do the minute the complaint comes in to manage the information, instead of just the documents.
- An understanding of the various motions and different stages.
- How to be valuable and assist the attorney in preparing for hearings on the motions.
Module 4 – Discovery
A litigation paralegal can be indispensable during the discovery phase of your litigation cases. In this module, your paralegals will learn:
- A step-by-step method for drafting discovery requests and responses from scratch and from templates.
- How to prepare a deposition prep notebook for the attorney to use when preparing for depositions.
- The best time to start preparing a trial notebook.
- How to prepare various deposition summaries.
Module 5 – The Trial Paralegal
In this module we cover the trial in great detail, because even if you don’t go to trial often, they will be better at early case management if they understand why they’re doing what they’re doing.
Some of the key areas covered in this module include:
- Using our Trial Prep Checklist to manage the weeks leading up to trial.
- Mastering trial technology like a pro.
- Managing the evidence during the pretrial phase, for things like witness prep and pretrial hearings.
- What a paralegal can do in the courtroom to be a huge asset to the trial attorney.
Approximate time to complete: 5 hours
Do you only have one paralegal to enroll?
Bonus! Group Coaching Calls with Ann
During your paralegal’s access to the Litigation Paralegal Training Program for one year, I hold a monthly live group coaching call that is optional for them to attend.
These group coaching calls are very helpful for them to jump on a Zoom meeting and ask any questions that they have related to the course and how to apply what they’re learning to their specific circumstances or struggles. If they can’t attend live, they also have the option to submit questions to me by email and I answer their question during the coaching call so that they can watch the recording at their convenience.
I am on a mission to help litigation paralegals build confidence in their skills and take the guesswork out of what it is they could be doing to better support their team.
PLUS your paralegal gets all of these checklists
- Trial Prep Checklist
- Trial Notebook
