The Indispensable Trial Paralegal

For litigation paralegals, receiving that Notice of Trial can mean working long hours and lots of stress.

What if your next trial could be different?  Imagine if your next trial was rewarding and enjoyable!

With the Trial Prep Boot Camp, you will have a trial prep guide that will take the stress out of getting ready for your next trial.

But what if it's a case that's just been handed to you and you've never worked on the case?!

We've got that covered in this course  - because that happens more often than we'd like.

What if I work for the master of procrastination?  We've got you covered.  In this course, we'll show you things that you can be doing every day so that you don't have to wait for the attorney to tell you what needs to be done.

What if the trial has thousands of exhibits and is out of town? We've got that covered in this course too.  We even include a complete Trial War Room Supply Checklist that details everything you need to ship to your out-of-town war room.

The Trial Prep Boot Camp is a comprehensive trial preparations and procedures course that will give you the resources to make the most use out of every day leading up to trial.

This course covers all aspects of preparing for trial, including:

  • Preparing the Trial Notebook
  • Getting ready for the Pretrial Conference
  • Witness prep meetings
  • Using an exhibit list that can help you find any trial exhibit in a few seconds
  • Finding and securing the best trial war room location
  • Evaluating different trial technology options, including the D-I-Y option that is easier than you think

I have prepared for trial but have not yet had the opportunity to attend one and I am extremely grateful for this coursework that lays out a timetable of when to begin which tasks, what to expect leading up to trial, and most importantly, what to expect during trial. In addition, this bootcamp provides you with myriad trial checklists and word or excel files to help you get organized. I highly recommend this course to anyone like me who has not been to trial, for someone who hasn't been in awhile as a refresher, or even someone looking to get better organized.

I thought the bootcamp was very helpful for new in-coming litigation paralegals as well as any paralegal that may be going to a trial. It is full of resources old and new. It takes you through the trial prep process step by step. It gives you examples of worksheets you can use before and during the trial. However, I do not remember hearing or seeing a checklist for post-trial clean-up, which can be very lonely but important for your trial team and the client. You may be the only one left after your trial is over (most attorneys will try to take the first thing smoking to get back to their families) to make sure all the equipment you ordered is picked up by the vendor, all your boxes are picked up by Fed-Ex or UPS, all hotel bills are closed out and there are no existing problems. Client files are delivered as instructed, as well as making sure all papers relating to the trial is shredded if necessary. These tasks may take a day or two depending on the time the trial ended, when the vendor can come and pick up their equipment, when Fed-Ex or UPS pick-up ends. you may need to schedule a pick-up on your own etc. Once you return and are back at your Firm, you will want to work with records to have your files sent off site and the files that can be shredded should be shredded. It is important to be organized, even at that stage of the process.
