Art & Science of Drafting Time Entries

The key to increasing paralegal realization numbers is to draft time entries that do not get written off.  That means that each time entry has to pass two hurdles:

  1.  Does the billing partner see the value in the work that was done? And
  2.  Does the client see the value in the work that was done?

We show paralegals an easy method to draft even the most difficult of time entries.  We  do this through drafting techniques that will convert time entries into something that the billing partner and the client see as a value add.

We don’t agree with the technique of just adding more words to a time entry to make it “sound” like you did more valuable work.  A time entry that reflects what you actually did is the best way to draft time entries.

Program Highlights

  • The importance of showing the real value of your work in your time entries
  • Feedback from corporate clients on what they look for in your time entries
  • The key content that should be in every time entry to reduce write-offs
  • Time entry examples and exercises to help with the drafting process

We also offer the full 3-hour Billable Hour Boot Camp course that includes methods for increasing paralegal billable hours and daily productivity.  You can schedule all 3 sessions as a series of monthly webinars presented to your entire team.
